About the Artist

Celeste DeCoudres

Fine Artist in Oils and Acrylics

Thank you for visiting my website.  I have been an artist from my earliest days growing up in Long Beach, California.  Influenced by my very creative and talented mother, I loved to draw and paint and, in general, make stuff.  I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Masters Degree in Art, concentrating in pre-Columbian Peruvian textile designs.

Where as, I love textiles and fabric construction, I also love to paint.  My paintings reflect having lived in Spain, Switzerland, Peru, and Mexico, as well as the other countries where I have traveled. After years of painting in watercolor and acrylic, I am now enjoying painting in oil. My work has been in several galleries, art shows, and private collections.  Previously, I worked as full time drawing teacher at a high school in Los Angeles.

Besides my formal art education, I have taken classes or workshops with the following professional artists: Margo Lennartz, Tom Lynch, and Caroline Jasper, Leslie Saeta, Robert Scherill, Julie Snyder, Marilyn Simandle, Quang Ho, Tim Tyler, and Ramel de la Torre.

My paintings have been in several gallery exhibits or art shows in and around Pasadena, California: the Pasadena Art Expo, Altadena Country Club, Segil Gallery in Monrovia, White's Gallery in Montrose,  the Shakespeare Club Art Show, and the Sierra Madre Art Fair.

I am an Artist member of the California Art Club.  Also, I am a member of the Creative Arts Group, Glendale Art Associations, the Norton Simon Art Museum and the Shakespeare Club.
